Code-93

Code 93 is a barcode symbology designed in 1982 by Intermec to provide a higher density and data security enhancement to Code 39. It is an alphanumeric, variable length symbology. Code 93 is used primarily by Canada Post to encode supplementary delivery information. Every symbol includes two check characters. Each Code 93 character is nine modules wide, and always has three bars and three spaces, thus the name. Each bar and space is from 1 to 4 modules wide. (For comparison, a Code 39 character consists of five bars and four spaces, three of which are wide, for a total width of 13–16 modules.) Structure of a code 93 barcode  A start character * Encoded message First modulo-47 check character "C" Second modulo-47 check character "K" Stop character * Termination bar

What is DataBar Expanded? DataBar Expanded is also the only linear 1D barcode symbology approved by GS1 to encode GTIN-14 numbers and additional data in all retail checkout systems (POS) and is required by the Joint Industry Coupon Committee (JICC) to be used for DataBar Coupon Barcodes. GS1 DataBar Limited is a fixed-length symbology that supports the encodation of Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) that begin with "0" or "1". It is used for applications where space is extremely limited and omnidirectional scanning is not required. Due to its compact size, this symbology is mainly used in the health care industry. DataBar Stacked

Image
A GS1 DataBar Stacked consists of two GS1 bar codes piled on top of one another, in order to pack more consecutive information into a small, square space. This type of stacked code is typically used in supermarkets, in order to include more information on smaller packages, such as on produce. What is GS1 DataBar Stacked? GS1 DataBar Stacked is a GS1 DataBar Omnidirectional symbol that is reduced in height and split into two rows with a separator pattern between them. It is identical to GS1 DataBar Stacked Omnidirectional except that the total height is reduced to as low as 13 modules. As a result, this symbology cannot be accurately read omnidirectionally. What is a DataBar Expanded Stacked barcode symbol? A DataBar Expanded Stacked barcode symbol is created by reducing the “Segments” property to a low, even value, such as 4, 6 or 8. The number of segments chosen may produce multiple rows. Using the DataBarExpanded option with a feature level 9 or greater font encoder returns text form

CODABAR RATIONALIZED

Image
What is a Codeabar barcode? Codabar is a linear barcode symbology developed in 1972 by Pitney Bowes Corp. It and its variants are also known as Codeabar, Ames Code, NW-7, Monarch, Code 2 of 7, Rationalized Codabar, ANSI/AIM BC3-1995 or USD-4. What is a Rationalized Codabar? That is, characters with 2 wide elements use a 3:1 ratio, while characters with 3 wide elements use a 2:1 ratio, so all characters are 10 narrow elements wide (plus the inter-character space makes 11). "Rationalized codabar" uses a fixed ratio and allows the character widths to vary. What is Codabar used for? Codabar is also applied to the test tube for blood test (specimen) in order to confirm the individual ID. This page introduces the composition and industrial applications of CODE 39 and Codabar codes. The “Barcode Information & Tips” site offers information on the standards, basic principles, and reading know-how related to barcodes and 2D codes. What is the difference between Code 39 and Codabar

EAN-14

Image
The EAN 14 code is used for traded goods. The code is always 14 numeric digits long: The first two numbers are the Application Identifier of the EAN-128: (01). You cannot change them. They are part of the code. You must not enter them. ActiveBarcode will add them automatically. The first digit is the "Logistic Variant", also named as "Packaging indicator". The next 12 digits are representing the product number. General this the EAN-13 number without the check digit. The last digit is the check digit. ActiveBarcode calculates this digit automatically.

PZN

Image
What is a PZN barcode? The text under the barcode consists of the string "PZN", followed by the actual number ("PZN" is not encoded into the symbol). When encoding a PZN, Code 39 is used without a check digit as the PZN already contains a Modulo 11 check sum. Historically, the PZN encoded seven digits. What is PZN (Pharma-Zentral-Nummer)? PZN (Pharma-Zentral-Nummer) is used for distribution of pharmaceutical / health care products in Germany. The specification of this application is maintained at Informationsstelle für Arzneispezialitäten GmbH (IFA). The value to encode length is fixed to 6 digits (for PZN7) or 7 digits (for PZN8) plus 1 digit checksum. What does PZN stand for? PZN (Pharma-Zentral-Nummer) is a code for medicine identification in Germany and maybe other countries. In Germany it's issued by the Informationsstelle für Arzneispezialitäten GmbH, Beethovenstr. 51-53, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The PZN is based on Code39. The last digit is a check d
